Nic's Problems - Animation
In the Summer of 2002, Class 2 worked in partnership with Sea media to develop an animation that would help other children to understand maths problems.
The children started to look at different maths problems and developed their own problems that involved addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Sea Media helped the children to animate their problems and gave them hands on experience at each step of the process. They helped the children to design story boards. This showed the childrenn what art work was needed. From this the children developed both 2 and 3d models that would be used in the filming process. The children learnt how to move the artwork everso slightly between each shot and how the shots were linked together to create a short film. Finally the children recorded their own music and voice overs to accompany the video.
Sea Media took all of the work away and created a short animated video. We are very proud that 'Nic's Problems' was shown at Showcommotion, a film festival that was hosted in Sheffield alongside other films that had been made by school children.
Nic's Problems was also screened at our local cinema, Penistone Paramount, for the whole school and interested parents. It is also hoped that 'Nic's problems' will be shown as a preview to children's films during the school holidays.
