SPRINGVALE PRIMARY SCHOOL IS 100 YEARS OLD THIS YEAR
Springvale Primary School is a 100 years old on 8th May 2009. This day will kick off the celebrations and activities that will end at the end of the year (December 2009).
The school wants to mark this milestone with an Open Day (morning) and a celebratory Street Party (afternoon) on the day itself. The Open Day will be an opportunity for anyone associated with the school to look round the school, to see the wonderful facilities we have and reminisce with us about their times at Springvale. Refreshments will be available. The afternoon will be a Street Party for the present pupils.
Do you or anyone you know have photos or memories of Springvale during the last 100 years?
One of our aims is to use this event to start a project in school for the children to find out about the history of the school. The result of this project will be a book or DVD or whatever the children decide depicting Springvale’s 100 Years.
To that end we need photos of the school, pupils, teachers and staff, and people’s memories of their time at Springvale School. Did you or any of your family and friends attend or work at Springvale Primary School? Do you/they have any photos or memories that you/they could share with the children?
Please contact any relatives or friends that went to Springvale and let them know about the Open Day and our request. If you or they do have anything then please bring them with you to school on Friday 8th May. If you can not make the Open Day then please drop off any photos, etc at the school – anytime after the Easter Holidays.
